I bought this enzymatic odor eliminator along with a deterrent because, for me, one without the other is pointless. If a cat marks a spot and you only use a repellent or deterrent, the odor may still be present, and the animal will tend to remark the same area.

I have ten cats at home, and one of them, who is cryptorchid, can mark outside the litter box when stressed (for example, during the introduction of a new cat). He usually repeats the same spots, so I first clean the area very well with this enzymatic cleaner and then apply the deterrent. That combination is what has really worked for me.
I've used it on floors, sofas with covers, and other fabrics, and in my case, it hasn't stained anything at all. It also leaves a pleasant, slightly citrusy scent that isn't overpowering or unpleasant, and it doesn't leave any noticeable residue.
Another thing that surprised me is how long it lasts. I bought this bottle in November 2024 and I'm still using the same one. In fact, the manufacturer has even changed the packaging design and I haven't had to buy another one yet. Since I only use it when I get occasional stretch marks due to stress, it lasts an excellent amount and a single bottle is incredibly long.
However, consistency is key. As soon as the cat marks, it's best to thoroughly clean the area with this product to eliminate any lingering odor before applying the deterrent. If you only use one of the two, it's much more likely the cat will mark that same spot again.
After using it for quite some time, I can say that it has worked very well for me and has become a staple product in our home for these kinds of situations. Obviously, it doesn't eliminate the cause of the marking—if the cat is stressed, that aspect needs to be addressed as well—but it does help eliminate the odor that might cause it to return to the same spot.
If combined with a good habit-breaker, in my experience the effectiveness is much greater than using either of the two products separately.
